Clinic Director
Mr Barry Francis FC.Pod.S.,DPod.M.,M.Ch.S

Mr Francis qualified as a state registered podiatrist at the London Foot Hospital, University of Westminster. He was a founder member of the Podiatry Association, which was probably responsible for the practice of podiatric surgery in the UK today. Mr Francis practices within the NHS as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon at Herts & Essex Hospital.

He served as a podiatrist to the British Olympic teams in 1984 and 1988, accompanying them to Los Angeles and Seoul. He also served as podiatrist to the English team at the Commonwealth Games in 1986. Mr Francis was for some years a podiatric consultant to the LTA, working closely on the Rover Junior Players programme. Barry Francis is a Fellow of the College of Podiatric Surgery and sits on the Board of the Surgical Faculty, as well as being a Vice President of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. He has been published in the podiatric press and is a contributor to Radio and TV programmes. Mr Francis undertakes a range of medical legal work including forensic cases. He is an a accessor for the council for the registration of forensic practitioners.

Mr Ashley Marks M.Ch.S S.R.Ch. D.Pod.M H.P.C Registered

I qualified from the Chelsea School of Chiropody in 1979. For the past 27 years, I have been working in the Private Sector in London's West End and also for the NHS in various clinics and hospitals in North London.

I hold a certificate of competence in local analgesia and have successfully completed a number of postgraduate training courses, including Homeopathy, Dermatology, Pharmacology, the Diabetic Foot, and Child Protection. I am also a qualified First Aider.

I specialise in primary foot care, diabetes and ingrown toenail surgery.

I have been married to Janet for 19 years and have 3 teenage children.

My leisure hobbies include Rugby, I am a qualified RFU coach (CRB checked), weight training, fitness training and reading.

I am looking forward to joining the team at the Fyfield Clinic and seeing at least some of you at the Clinic in the near future.


Chiropodist & Podiatrist
Mrs Philippa Armstrong MSCh Dpod M

I qualified in 1980 from the Chelsea School of Chiropody and Podiatric Medicine. I have worked within the NHS, industry and private practice. I am proud to have been an associate at the Fyfield Clinic for some 25 years. Mt speciality is primary foot care (chiropody) and I see patients encompassing the whole age range.

I have formerly been a County badminton player and I have a keen interest in most sports.

In my leisure time I enjoy reading, which is a passion and prevents me passing by bookshops. I live locally and I have three children, who keep me active with their habit of being in three different places at once.

I joined the team at Fyfield clinic 9 years ago after 20 years of running my own business.

My out of work interest include travel, reading, yoga and Argentinean Tango dancing. I speak several European languages.

I have worked as a secretary for over 25 years, several of which as a legal PA in London's West End and City. I have been working for Mr Francis here at the Fyfield Clinic for two and a half years as his PA and I deal largely with surgery patients and all matters relating to this. My leisure hobbies including swimming, cycling, reading, theatre, music and travel.

I have lived in England for three years. I studied English and Russian languages at university in Lithuania. I have been working as a receptionist/administrator in a dental practise until I joined then team at Fyfield Clinic. My out of work interest include reading, physical fitness and great interest I design.
